According to an old proverb, “A Chinese awake is not the equal of a Hui sleeping.” The Hui are a large Muslim ethnic minority group within China, renowned for their skill as traders. Traveling on business ventures all across the country, they became the most widely scattered as well as the most numerous of China’s Muslim peoples. Their home region is the inhospitable Ningxia desert in the northwest.
The Hui take their Muslim faith seriously. They look Chinese and speak Chinese, yet culturally, they seem closer to the Middle East. Men wear white caps; women wear headscarves. Their mosques have the customary minarets or prayer towers. Hui Muslims pray towards Mecca five times a day, observe the food laws, and study the scriptures in Arabic. Islam is known in China as “the Hui religion,” even though practiced by other minority groups.

Out of a population of over ten million, only about seventy-five individuals are known to be Christians. They attend house churches in other parts of China. There is still no church or fellowship of Hui believers. This means that most Hui have never heard of life in Jesus Christ.
Population 10.6 million
Religion 100% Sunni Muslim

But, God is mobilizing His people to reach the Hui. A short-term team recently distributed 35,000 tracts and cassettes in the Hui region. God wants all peoples to know Him, and if that's what God wants, then it's what we want too. Let's do as Jesus said and pray for this unreached people group. Let's Pray Together
- Pray for the Holy Spirit to breathe life through the tracts and cassettes now in the hands
of the Hui - Ask the Lord of the harvest to give Chinese Christians a heart to reach their Hui Muslim neighbors for Christ
